How Magic Kopfbau works
💪 Magic Kopfbau is participatory and non-commercial.
There is no passive audience and no traditional division between organizers, facilitators and participants. Everyone is invited to contribute to the gathering in their own way.
That might mean offering a workshop, helping with food, welcoming newcomers, sharing knowledge, creating a beautiful space, cleaning up, bringing music, offering emotional support — or simply noticing what is needed and helping when you can.

➿ You do not have to join for all 11 days.
Come for a day, an evening, several days or the entire gathering.
The core team will be present throughout the gathering.
Please note: Overnight stays are not possible at Kopfbau itself.
The Place
🛕 We have the whole Kopfbau — a historic building from 1937 — available to us every day from 6:00 to 23:00.
It gives us space to move, dance, meet, eat, talk, experiment, rest and create together.
Food
🍕 Food is part of the co-creation.
Rather than running a commercial kitchen, we organise food collectively. Participants are invited to bring dishes according to their possibilities. We warm it up at Kopfbau small kitchen.
More practical details will be shared with registered participants before the gathering.

What happens at Magic Kopfbau?
🌀 The program grows from the people who participate.
💫 There may be Contact Improvisation, movement research, dance, embodiment practices, workshops, rituals, creative spaces, music, conversations, games, meditation, shared meals and spontaneous experiments.
Some offerings are prepared in advance.
Others emerge during the gathering.
👥 You are welcome to participate, offer something yourself — or sometimes simply be there.
Who is Magic Kopfbau for?
🫂 Magic Kopfbau is for curious, open-minded people aged 18 and over who want to explore movement, connection, community and themselves.
🤸♀️ You don’t need to be a professional dancer, facilitator or artist to belong here.
🤝 We especially welcome curious people from Messestadt and the wider Munich community, while also inviting dancers, artists and practitioners from elsewhere to bring new perspectives and inspiration.
If you are new to Contact Improvisation or this kind of gathering, you are very welcome.
Participation & Contribution
🫰 Magic Kopfbau is non-commercial.
Nobody is getting paid by the gathering. Financial contributions are used to cover our shared costs.
💰 We will share the costs – and they are very low: 30-60 EUR per person. Still money should not to be the reason someone cannot participate. If the later defined contribution will be difficult for you, please get in touch.
Coming from outside Munich?
🛌🏻 If you are travelling from outside Munich, we will try to connect you with local participants who may be able to host you. If you need support, let us know in the registration form.
